exactly this. what i don't understand are people, who don't understand the hatred. my firm sacked 40 colleagues and they were replaced with a chatbot this year. lots of them are 45+ y/o. try to find a good job at that age, with wage similar to what you've earned, to be able to work another 15-20 years so that you get your full retirement.

there are no safety nets for people like this (unlike banks and corpos that "suffered" in crises and got bailed out every time). and with the exponential development in AI and automation, more and more areas will be affected. thinking that the rich will always need us is naive. they won't feed us out of altruism and they won't need our hands and minds if they can get the products and services from robots who don't go on sick leave, don't need vacation, don't strike, demand better conditions, don't get pregnant, etc.

there is no chance for utopia in a zero-sum-game. there must be a winner. and if there's a winner, there must exist a losing side as well.
