Make this make sense to me.... So people are mad at Sam for using Scalette Johansson's voice against her wishes but what if they truly used another actress (as they stated)...The main issue seems to be that he asked ScarJo in the first place. Think about it. If she turns down there role then he's going to find someone else to fill the role (obviously) If he had a certain voice quality in mind for the role anyone he picked is going to sound like her because that vocal quality is the generic friendly woman voice. When you call an automated hotline or customer service notice how they all sound the same.. not because they're the same person, but because they are speaking the same way. So that was the type of voice he was after it doesn't matter who he picked or what technique used. Because of the movie people are always going to associate friendly woman ai asstant with that voice. unless the voice is distinctly different or has an accent. In that case, it's a completely different tone and ScarJo doesn't OWN that original tone.

So are they supposed to respect creatives or not it seems that if he didn't reach out to her then they'd be in less hot water.

In which case just carry out with the mantra it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
