I think that this is the problem, but Biden and his PR people see it - somehow as some type of win? I mean....sure, I see job postings for cashier at a coffee shop near me hiring at $18/hr. And yet, fairly skilled carpenters here are STILL getting paid $18-$23/hr. Was a good wage a few years ago, and suddenly it's not. But a LOT of professional jobs in every sector (construction, IT, sales, management etc) are getting sold out to cheap imported labor to keep those wages compressed through everything from straight-up illegal labor to H1B's.

The compression is what matters. Americans in the middle (who you traditionally want to message to as a politician, so I'm not sure why they AREN'T) are watching their quality of life slip away in real-time.
