Lol one theory I've always found proven true: if the company has solid fundamentals/ guidance and splits at, say 800. That number is now programmed into people's minds as a genuine possibility. Because of this, people will naturally feel comfortable, eventually paying that same amount or more for the stock after the split has occurred.

People don't generally take into account the history of splits when making decisions as to whether a stock is reasonably priced. Coca-Cola is a great example of this phenomenon.
