Saying you agree with a 12 year prison sentence because you've never made a mistake with a stray round is like saying you should lock up every single person who gets into a minor fender bender because you look both ways before making left turns.

Twelve year prison sentences are typically reserved for some of the worst human beings on earth like rapists and child molesters. If you seriously believe that accidentally missing a tiny bullet when checking your luggage is on the same level as those people, then I emphasize my comment about touching grass.

Also, comparing accidental shootings to stray rounds in a suitcase is as idiotic of a comparison as you could possibly make. An accidental shooting requires MANY layers of massive negligence that every single gun owner is well aware of. Handling a gun without the safety activated, without checking the chamber, without checking the magazine, pointing in an unsafe direction. These are all things that are 1000x easier to prevent than a stray round in a suitcase. Those two incidents are not even in the same league with one another.
