Charlie Shrem was knowingly selling millions of dollars worth of bitcoin to someone named Robert Faiella that was money laundering and operating an unregistered money service business. Charlie Shrem knew that Robert Faiella was selling millions of dollars worth of bitcoin to Silk Road users that needed bitcoin to buy illegal items on the Silk Road marketplace. Charlie Shrem knew what Robert Faiella was doing. Sherm and Faiella discussed it through email. Sherm was not adhering to any AML procedures. Shrem did not file any reports when selling millions of dollars worth of bitcoin to Faiella.
