That's absolutely wild. Are you talking about a "croissant sandwich" (croissant with ham, cheese or other condiments)? The average price of a homemade, plain croissant in France in a regular bakery (they are made fresh daily) is around 1 to 1.20 euros, which is around 1.10 to 1.30 USD. I know butter, flour, yeast, energy costs, etc. are different between the two countries but surely they are not THAT different to warrant a 8 to 1 difference? (especially on the energy costs side which is a huge expense for bakeries, it's much more expensive in France and in the EU in general).
