Why are we calling this a low power chip? Unless I’ve missed something, which is possible because the marketing comms on the Snapdragon X Elite have been a little convoluted, but from what I’ve read it’s an [80w TDP chip](https://wccftech.com/qualcomm-is-prepping-a-snapdragon-dev-kit-for-developers/) which is squarely within desktop x86 processor territory.
If this were 5 years ago, the emulation layer alone would be impressive, but Apple cracked the code on x86 translation with Rosetta 2 almost 4 hardware generations ago. Relatively speaking, unless Prism is significantly more efficient, which is a big if given Microsoft’s previous x86 to arm translation layer performance, that’s not really impressive today.
