More people using ChatGPT, means more people ready for the GPT environment, which makes it easier to get companies to use them. Imagine you tell Company A that they could easily launch their service on the GPT platform and have instant access to X customers.

It being free to use, means risk to use is very low. The ability to capture a consumer and turn them into a paying customer will be easier. For those who don't convert, you now have more users data to sell or use to train your model and reduce future expense.

Google is "free" and I would expect GPT or whatever it becomes to be the same.
