Noticing a trend in the weekly entering post and wanted to check with the larger group and maybe provide more visibility to folks searching the subreddit.
What I have noticed is that there is a sizable group of users trying to break into the field as a ML Engineer or ML Ops from college. I know that titles in the data space can mean basically anything but from my experience, ML engineers typically were once data scientist who had good engineering skills or data engineers that leaned more heavily on the stats than a typical data engineer. At the company I work, typically you would need five plus years of experience as a data scientist or data engineer before you would be able to apply for a ML engineer role.
Not trying to be a constant the princess is in another castle guy here, but if data scientist is generally not an entry level role ML engineer is typically a bit more senior than that.
Just trying to figure out if I am out of touch or if the children who are wrong.
