Ive been back and forth between being a commercial diver or going back to school to study oceanography. I love the ocean and I want a career in the water.

Reading around the internet it seems like oceanographers spend at MOST a month on or near the water, and the rest of the year is spent in lab doing research.

Is there a job field within oceanography that works on or in the ocean more often then not? I don’t mind research, I just want to be on or in the water as often as I can. My dream is diving, and I’d like a job in the sciences.
