I'm very much in favour of making sure that being jobless isn't a capital offence (as I think we're content to let it be now), but AI doesn't end all kinds of scarcity. In particular, I have no trust at all that humans without the limitations of money or something like it would stop short of raping the earth to own five big trucks, or a 20,000 square foot home. It's bad if you can't afford to eat, or to go to the hospital, but it's good if you can't afford to fly to Jamaica every other week for a vacation.
