Totally understand what you mean, but I still believe you have to take people's viewpoints into consideration.

For example, I don't just mean poor working conditions, like "work people bother me at home". I'm tired of hearing people cry on and on about wanting to be fully remote, and it's a bit much IMO.

But at the same time, industries are getting upended or overhauled from new tech like AI. New hires are getting starting salaries more than double than what they were just 2-3 years ago. Wages are going up, causing businesses to hire fewer people, and putting the workload on the remaining workers. People who job hopped were rewarded 30-40% pay bumps, but due to the overhiring that occurred shortly after the pandemic started, there are mass layoffs in specific industries.

Consider just how many people think they got shafted whenever they look at the people next to them. It's probably a much more significant number of people than it was in 2019. These all have real effects on our psyche and productivity as a nation.

So yeah, data is definitely important, but it's just data. "Wage growth" is not the same across the board, and "inflation" is not the same across the board. They're just formulas.
