There are a number of killer apps that are “built on Ethereum.”

For instance: Ethereum is the primary issuance platform for stablecoins, which are digital dollars that trade on the blockchain. There’s currently $160b in stablecoins. I think that could be trillions in the near future. It’s also the primary platform for DeFi applications, like Uniswap and Aave. We’re already seeing how these applications are disrupting parts of the crypto financial services industry; with certain regulatory advances, it could impact the broader financial services industry. It's also a growing platform for tokenization, decentralized social media, etc. All of these could be very significant markets.

Regarding its competitive advantages: The core advantage of Ethereum vs. non-crypto-based platforms is that Ethereum is credibly neutral and decentralized. For many applications, those are must haves, and non-crypto-based platforms can’t compete. The core advantage of Ethereum vs. competing blockchains like Solana is its robust network of developers and users. Network effects can be quite powerful, and Ethereum has a big lead here.

That doesn’t guarantee its success long-term, but it is a strong starting point.
