Yeah they have an uphill battle on this and I think at this point fighting over a voice is not in their best interest even if they are on the right side of the law. Better to take the publicity and just pivot to another voice and try to utilize the bad press as marketing without getting burnt by the bad press legally and politically.

I don't think most people actually think it should be curtailed though, we need to do our best to distinguish between loud online people and hollywood people vs actual majorities. The internet always creates the illusion that the loudest people represent a majority, but they rarely do. Most people haven't even used AI yet, and don't have much of an opinion on it at all.
