The majority of wealthy people started out already wealthy. And the poor are not jumping into middle class as much as they use to. And the middle class are falling into poverty more.

I mean, your " muh bootstraps" yammering is not completely wrong, but just not the only issue. Sure, trickle down was not ever meant to be for those not trying at all. But really, for hundreds and hundreds of years now (literally they were saying it in the 1400's) the wealthy in the west have been blaming the poor for being 'just too lazy'.

So i figure the folks that do the 'bootstaps' song and tune are about as rational as the folks that do the 'love it or leave it' dance.
