I dropped them from my rotation of news sites over the low quality content. I didn't hate their advertisements-as-reviews completely, they did occasionally surface a cool gadget or two, and I get they have to make money, but overall, the rise in AI led to a direct decline in their overall quality. They lost a few writers and didn't really replace them. Ars Technica and The Register are 2 of the best, with much more focus on longer form content with actual analysis, instead of just reposting other site's stuff with a preamble blurb stapled to the front. The Verge is ok if you're looking for a bit more mainstream entertainment tech and probably the most similar to Engadget (in mostly the good ways, less of the trash ways)
