The problem with driving is that you're not alone on the road.

Therefore you're only ever going to be as safe as your companion drivers allow you to be.

The way I visualize this element of fate for myself is when I drive across roads that are busy I sometimes imagine what would happen if you suddenly steered into the opposing traffic.

The reality is that a crash would be instant.

It's absolute nonsense to believe that an opposing driver would have time to process what is happening and react in time to avoid it. Even if the other driver saw what was happening at these speeds the crash happens the moment you see it and regardless - usually you don't have the space to avoid a collision.

Of course freak accidents like this (intentional ones) are rare - but it unintentional accidents don't announce themselves either. It doesn't matter what causes another driver to fail.

So yeah. You have more control. But only over yourself.
