I have an inkling if a feeling that maybe Brexit is more to blame for the UKs economic woes than the scores of cheap labor that’s trying to come to its shores.
But recognizing that would require admitting the UK leadership did possibly the worst thing to its economic and diplomatic standing it could have possibly done, and the people voted for it, and are now bearing the consequences of their stupidity. No, couldn’t possibly be that, must definitely be the immigrants who are willing to work for poverty wages, crammed into overcrowded apartments, not receiving government benefits.
How in the world we always come around to blaming the poorest people with the least economic power or political influence and not those who have outsize economic power and control politics, is beyond me. The system is broken! Is it the poor people with no money, no healthcare, no jobs, and no security that broke the system? Or is it the corporations hoarding wealth, the politicians restricting healthcare and job permits? God, must be the people with little to no agency over their own lives and certainly not our corporate-capitalist overlords /s.
