Not sure how you think having abundance on the scale of millions of times more than what we currently have today will lead to more inequality though. How is a single human - likely a rich fuck who's too stupid to know how to connect their phones to their home wi-fi - going to take exclusive control of already aligned ASI?

Obviously we knew a bad-actor scenario is possible. That's what we're trying to avoid. The slower we go, the more chances they have to set a precedence of _slowly_ replacing humans with AI in companies without said companies being taxed for it.

Highly doubt this. We'll have AGI before they get around to actually using it effectively instead of just as PR and showing off.

Not sure how you think this is physically possible.

Either the AI is competent enough to replace all humans and it's AGI, in which case it doesn't matter, or it's not, and it can't.

Sure we have some systems that are leading towards that and that are doing things like replacing call centers and graphic designers, but at least in the case of call-centers they quickly find that the technology is HIGHLY lacking and not as intelligent yet as they would have hoped.

Currently software progress is vastly outpacing hardware and robot progress. This will continue _unless we slow it down_, which would be _very bad_.

I know it's hard to comprehend what AGI means and why it's not like those sci-fi fantasy pop-culture expressions of art like terminator or detroit become human or the matrix, but when you actually take a realistic perspective on what _next evolution_ means, it may start to sink in.

Keep in mind that there's nothing special about humans. We're not magic. Bacteria managed to accident into becoming multi-cellular organisms that can traverse in outer space, there's nothing stopping us from using ASI to take the next step.
