I’m sure variations of this question have been asked but I’m a bit confused on the proper self employed/side business retirement account I should open with 1099 type income from my small business (just me no employees), and would like to avoid being penalized later by the IRS for over contributing or having the wrong type of account!
Question: Would a SEP IRA, Traditional IRA, or ROTH IRA be more appropriate for my side business of just me no employees, relatively small income ($<20k) after maxing out my main job’s employee W-2 401K and personal backdoor ROTH IRA, both not affiliated with my side business? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
