I don't know why everyone keeps pointing to those things, it feels like such a reach to me.
They trained GPT4-o and realized they passed a huge milestone by getting performance close to the tech seen in a sci-fi movie. Obviously they get excited and beg Scarlett Johansson to voice it because the association with Her is too great an advertising/showcasing opportunity to pass up.
She turned them down. They used a different voice that has literally nothing in common with ScarJo except that their emotionally intelligent AI feels similar to her CHARACTER from a FICTIONAL STORY because it's, also, an emotionally intelligent AI.
Neither ScarJo, nor the movie directors/writers, own the rights to the concept of a warm and friendly female AI assistant. If GPT4-o were just a scam like Replika and they used ScarJo's likeness to sell a glorified sex toy to a market of desperate incels, then yes she's in the right because the product they'd be selling would be the objectification and sexualization of ScarJo, but they LITERALLY BUILT the AI from the movie.
