This is amazing. I suppose there are no news wires anymore. The papers don't demand news. They demand crap like this. "How do we frame this narrative to our readers?"

I don't even know where to begin with this piece. The strangest thing about it, I suppose, is that the AP piece cartoonishly presupposes two things: that conservatives are "against colleges" and that either all academics are liberals or that only liberal academics are at risk of having their careers derailed by accusations of plagiarism?

It is such a ridiculous headline that I'm having trouble gathering my thoughts. So I apologize for this post. I don't recall ever seeing the AP frame any other fall from grace in a similar fashion. For example: "attacks on Joe Rogan highlight new liberal weapon against conservatives: accusations of racism." No, you'd never see a piece like that.

I suppose I'm curious to see how the AP's framing here will be defended here. This is the sort of thing I expect from NPR and APM, and I guess I should know better when it comes to the AP.

Do you think this is a useful article for the American public? Is this a legitimate journalistic endeavor - to warm Americans of this new threat - conservatives with computers? Do the academic public truly need a warning to watch out for conservatives reading their work?
