This is late but that's going to happen when, upon reflection, the focus is on fallout and damage control more than the initial story.

The MSM reaction was outrage that a Democrat would suggest W. Bush for house speaker.

"How dare that Democrat bring up our former savior who is now so unpopular it makes us look like fools."

Before seeing the video it is easy to assume from the MSM reaction that the Democrat was intentionally and gleefully puppy training MSM, rubbing their faces into their own jingoism.

From the video -- the initial story -- it's clear that was not his goal. No one is that good of an actor or at concealing glee that well.

This is an example where MSM were so disreputable even the passive machinery of government alone was enough to bite them on the fanny -- no assistance necessary from social media or the Democratic Party.

One is always hoping the Dems will be a little more aggressive.
