The first iterations are obviously going to be owned by tech giants because the development is resource intensive. But as the technology spreads I think it'll lower inequality because it'll greatly reduce the barrier to entry for all sorts of competitive micro service companies. E.g. I once worked for a highly automated insurance startup that only had 30 members of staff and hundreds of thousands of customers Most of those members of staff were customer service agents. With AI being used instead I think we're rapidly approaching the day when an insurance company might actually seriously be run by as few as 7 or 8 people.
AI is going to disappear low skill jobs yes. But it's also going to give an advantage to the 'small guy' with the best business idea like never before.
