If I had a penny for every time I've been on a conference call to LA and the people I was listening to ran to a door frame because there was an earthquake but neither their power or internet were disrupted, so multiple people on these calls were watching things (almost) fall off shelves with shaky cam; I'd have 2 pennies.

Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice.

I have no idea if earthquake proof also influences being hot or cold proof. But texas powergrid definitely ain't hurricane proof, so in order to be comparable it aught to at least be built to withstand 1 type of local complication.
