Actually this is a terrible move for Ukraine... here's why : All the ukrainians with high education will be allowed to move and work in western europe where they will enjoy higher pay... this is a brain drain for ukraine. All the lower skilled people will also have the opportunity to move. 2 scenarios are possible. "1" they move to the west to replace lower skilled employees (polish cleaning lady) which creates a drain in the work force. "2" big western companies move the production lines out of Romania and into ukraine. This might kill local businesses in ukraine who won't be able to keep up with the slightly increased wages offered by western companies as well as the economies of scales made by those well established companies. Lastly, would you want to stay in ukraine that is politically unstable and at risk of war (Remember that the conflict started 12 years ago and is nowhere near a solution) if you could move to western europe ? There is a reason why some countries stayed "candidates" for 10+ years while the EU was pumping billions to develop their economies for a smooth integration
