Ok. Just look at the list. Are the 54 countries above the US the ones you should compare yourself to?

If I’m doing that I’m sorry. Can you provide an example? Looking back at my posts then, yes, the first one was a bit hyperbolic but I’ve only cited sources on intentional homicide rates, no?

I don’t know how Chicago fares but Illinois isn’t in the top ten.

I don’t know what you want to compare the US to, but Europe feels like a good candidate. Intentional homocide rate is 2.2 on average ( as in the us, very different between countries of course). If we go by 2022 figures then 7 out of 51 states (I’m calling DC a state here just for convenience ) are equal or lower. And we are not even counting the US controlled territories like Puerto Rico.

I understand that this is going to sound a bit bad but if you compare the US to Africa and South America then they are amazing. But using almost any other region that comparison isn’t as favorable.
