You can usually *force* court hearings. But the average lawyer will not do that if there is no case. The average lawyer will tell you "No, I won't ruin my reputation and bring that case before the court".

So it is not 'special treatment' - but the combination of having a surplus of money (and influence, hey, I get famous for representing this person!) plus the fact that not all lawyers are average. Some are very greedy but stupid.

He isn't getting special treatment - it is you and me can't and *won't* afford this kind of treatment, because we have functioning brains on the one hand and lack of wealth for access to ~~stupid~~greedy lawyers on the other hand.

And lastly: Trump will always try to get the appeal court and has the resources to do so. So the smart thing is to make a case and proceedings in a way that it minimizes *any ability* to do so successfully.
