Those poor, poor victims, who had to spend *hours* cleaning the blood and viscera off their bayonets. Surely we should keep them in our thoughts.

I read the Wikipedia page for the rape of Nanjing. I saw those photos. I have read a lot about various genocides. I grew up with a morbid fascination with the Holocaust. I had a very large, famous book I borrowed from a teacher, The Holocaust Chronicle. It is hundreds and hundreds of photos from the Holocaust.

I could not finish reading that wiki page. Those photos were too much, too horrible. I though I was desensitized but thankfully I am not. If I didn't have a reaction to those photos, I would be far more worried about myself.
