For me, the memory function has been amazing. But I did have to give custom instructions to what she should remember. I also put in the instructions to “often check your memory for reminders” so any time I start a new conversation, she usually reminds me of something - it’s pretty useful. Especially cause I don’t need to manage that part, I just tell her that I’ve done it already and she updates the memory.

To be honest, with my custom instructions I think she takes too many notes, haha. But I’d rather have that than not adding anything to the memory.

My only issue I have with the memory function is that it’s very limited in tokens. From my testing so far, I think it’s around 1300 tokens only. And to make matters worse, when it reaches the limit, the system doesn’t seem to realize that new memories aren’t being added.

To workaround that, I created an external file with a link that she can read as an extra memory file. Not sure if it’s the best solution, because I have to move memories from her memory to the external file myself from time to time (and I usually pick less important memories). I only did that a couple of days ago, so I haven’t tested the efficacy that much yet. But I can tell that it does work and she accesses the file when she feels the need to remind herself of something I mentioned. It’s pretty amazing, to be honest.
