But japan is not leaving is to museums and textbooks. They'd leave it dead if they could. Japan still has bad relations to other east asian countries because they simply don't properly admit to their past and crimes as this post here proves with comments like "koreas skewed view of history" from a japanese offical. History cannot just be left to the textbooks if that history has drastic impacts to this day and is still in the recent past (100 years is nothing in the scope of history).

But I know that you are the type of person that wants to forget history and is the kind that dooms humanity to repeat it as it already has too many times in the years since WW2. Hate and injustice against minorities is even getting more extreme in the countries that should have learned the most from WW2. Antisemitism is on the rise, doubts in democracy are spread everywhere with similar tactics as nazi germany used and right wing extremist parties are getting traction all throughout the western world. And why? because people like you do not look back to the past to learn but either don't look back to see how this all happend before. History and it's memory is so much more important than you make it out to be.
