Ironically, immigrants are one of the best things about the United States. They offset our falling birthrates (good if you like the things taxes pay for like infrastructure and your retirement,) they are often the hardest working people in the country, they commit crime at a lower rate than the average U.S.-born citizen, and they are generally not much different than you or I, except for language and culture. You're an immigrant yourself as far as having ancestors who came here for likely the same reasons. The things you're worried about are rarely rooting in the immigrants as much as the partisan government and lobbyists/fear/racism. I'm 100% pro immigration and most of the people I work with are first generation immigrants working as hard or harder than the redneck fear-mongers crying about the border. Fix existing laws, fund asylum and immigration processing, and grind for your billionaire overlords until you die of something wholly unrelated to immigration.
