I think regardless of how AI/robots progress, I really don't see people in positions of power showing any sign of concern for how comfortable people live. I think in the scenario where they're the dominant labor force, mass human populations will just live in slums. In the meantime, developed countries will just keep bringing in more and more populations from undeveloped countries who will accept their low wages, poor living conditions, poor social outlook because it's better than where they're from. It will continue to drive down quality of life in developed nations the way it's already doing, and we'll just get closer and closer to that reality.
