I had a friend inherit a house in the UK last year. I don’t know how much but it’s going to be fairly chunky money. He could turn that into a decent addition to his state pension, retire at 55.

But no, in the bank to be chipped away at and taken by inflation. Worth less and less. He could have been +30% on the S&P and bitcoin with a modest split. Obviously a lot more than that depending on the percentages of those two examples.
