I graduated in the last recession, what helped me was working with employment agencies! They will help with your resume and get you jobs. These jobs may not be the perfect fit or pay the best, but you’ll get experience you can put on your resume (especially if you request to work for name brand companies). Contract work is what kicked off my career, I did it for 2+ years, worked for like 10 different companies. One note is do not expect to be brought on full time, they will tell you they can based on “how hard you work”, and sometimes this happens! But usually it’s out of your manager’s hands as agency conversions are expensive versus a candidate they find themselves. Also, when verifying your employment with agencies they will only have your company and job title (which often is super vague like Marketing Level 1) so you can tailor your experience when applying to new jobs.
