I'm assuming that you live in Texas. Heb brand items are more often than not actually objectively better than brand name stuff. Everything's affordable, the employees are very personanable, there's never anyone super sketchy inside an heb even if it's a sketchy neighborhood, there's often sales, ... some hebs are better than others but in general you know what you're getting. HEB is the one thing I miss about Texas. It's better than whole foods by a long shot on both price and plain tastiness of the food. If you live in Texas you absolutely should be buying groceries from heb rather than anywhere else except maybe Aldi but Aldi doesn't have as many locations so it's probably not even a realistic alternative.

Edit: I guess also Costco is a good choice but in my mind Costco fills a different need than heb, hence they're not really competitors
