I have weird feeling about this.
I used ChatGPT for use case of investing in stock market. I studied the past bear markets and found a pattern in some data but I can't pinpoint with accuracy so I asked ChatGPT. It found it's linear regression model and listed the whole process of computing, lots of math equations which could take us hours to do. And I don't think I want to spend time to learn every detail about world which beg the question: what do we human do in the future when AI can do all the thinking? It's like we will doing high level stuff without understanding how everything really works similar to computer programming, it's moving to higher level from assembly language.
So using the linear regression formula from ChatGPT, I am able to predict the depth of bear market drawdown accurate to the nearest 3% error. It's insane. I can make many millions from this. if it worked for past 5 bear markets, I don't see why it won't work for the future bear market as long as this formula is not widespread. I can't be the only one figured out though. Anyone here found a formula to do similar forecast of bear market bottom? I can't tell the formula. If too many people know about it, it'll stop working becaus too many people will try to buy and sell at the same time. Those who found it should keep it as secret.
it feels like how AI model is trained. I needed to adjust the data, excluded some data to get better results.
With a single very simple linear regression formula:

What I learned about ChatGPT from this is that ChatGPT super powerful. The key to get best use of it is feed it the right data and ask the right question. AI is very smart but ultimately , I think human will still prevail in the end because we have wisdom. The danger is turning ourselves into machines.
BTW: ChatGPT is WAY ahead of Ernie Bot. I tried the same data with Ernie bot and it just gave me some python code, kept mentioning Python, numpy without telling me the actual linear regression formula. Big fail.
