Out of sheer curiosity, I wonder: Is a sniper tower still a viable option for defending a position in the 21st century? I feel like they might be losing relevance on the modern battlefield, almost the same way trench warfare became predominantly obsolete after the development of the tank in WW I. Thoughts anybody? I'm genuinely curious as to how people view the use of marksman towers in the 21st century.
