It's impossible to know how many bitcoins have been lost or how fast they're being lost today. I really really doubt that millions of dollars of Bitcoin are just being lost every year. People are dumb, but they're also greedy - greedy enough to be careful with significant amounts of money. It'll probably be decades until Bitcoin lost > Bitcoin created, like until the inflation rate is near 0.
