Completely unfair especially since a movie’s ability to get views is intimately tied up with when and how it gets featured in the various media stores. I was involved with a successful streaming media show. We obsessed over our analytics and it was clear that the only reliable way our numbers ever got boosted was when we were featured by the studio on the front page. It had nothing to do with the quality of the show. (Though the quality probably helped with retention .)
