Im pretty new to this field. So, I plan on building monitoring system where the IoT system can monitor the humidity, temperature, and sound sensitivity using DHT22 and KY-037. So the sensors will send/published the data to MQTT broker.

But here's the catch, I also want to build my own custom Next JS Based App. Can I just connect my app to the MQTT broker?

Besides that, I want to push notification to my web app whenever there's overshooting where temperature or sound sentivity exceed certain value. Do I need websocket to do that
