It's not just the launch costs. Though they should drop quite a bit. It costs $60 million+ to launch a falcon 9 right now. With a max payload capactiy around 39,000 lbs. So ~$1540+ per pound. They're hoping Starship costs will be under $1 million per launch, with a payload capacity of at least 220,000 pounds. That's like $4.50+ a pound. That's 342x cheaper. That alone is enough to be orders of magnitude as I said. But that's not all the savings. There is the massive increase in payload capacity in both weight and volume. Satellite manufacturers will no longer be so constrained by those limits. They'll save a huge amount of money by using cheaper and heavier materials. Both in material costs and all the engineering that gets done to make them as light weight as possible. Then there are all the costs involved with designing them to fold up like an origami to launch in the currently available fairings and then unfold once they get into orbit. And then more savings from having less pressure on them to get everything absolutely perfect to survive for 20+ years without being serviced with minimal backup. Adding extra backup systems and propellant tanks won't be a big deal. And it should be possible to service satellites if it's needed. Be it sending up a propulsion package to extend its service life, or capturing the satellite and fixing it place or bringing it back to a space station or Earth for service. It'll also be much more financially feasible to send up some sort of "junk collector" to deorbit dead satellites and collect debris. It's hard to put a dollar figure on all of that but the savings should be significant. Finally we get to the huge improvements in all kinds of things that will come from having high speed internet anywhere on the planet. All of the scientific research that will be possible in remote locations. All of the people and businesses around the world in underserved or unserved locations that will now have access to the internet. Again hard to put a dollar figure on that, but it will be priceless for the potentially billions of people that benefit from it. IMO the benefits of fully reusable rockets and global high speed internet far outweigh the negatives like ground based space observatories having to deal with satellites in their images.
