So I’m currently applying for some Masters degrees and many of them require an essay about a specific topic. The following line is in the instructions:
“as in cases of plagiarism or the use of AI (e.g., Chat GPT, DeepL, Grammarly, etc) evidenced in the essay, will be excluded from the process.”.
I mean I’ve heard lots of people saying that chatgpt could be detected using different tools like Turnitin or whatever, and I didn’t care if it’s true or not, since I don’t use it to write whole texts or essays. However what I do often is that I write some paragraphs in my native language (since I can express myself better) and then translate it using DeepL and maybe check if there’s anything wrong using Grammarly. But how can they detect something like this? Especially in DeepL, there’s the option to change the translation as if you’re writing the text from scratch.
