I had a similar situation selling my home last year. I parked it in a savings account with one of the big banks. But they only paid 3%. Eventually I put it in a SWVXX which is a money market paying over 5%. But I understand you don't want any hiccups with transferring so my best advice is a high yield savings account like UFB. Axos bank is their parent bank. I have a small amount in UFB Direct and have had no issues. You can do wires so when you need to transfer it out it's rather easy. They pay 5.25%.

Just be sure to put enough aside to cover capital gains taxes for your home sale come tax time next year. Congratulations!
