That may not be true. [This](https://www.usvotefoundation.org/voting-rights-restoration/florida) website claims that Florida only revokes voting rights from people convicted of a felony in another state if that state's law would make them ineligible to vote. [This](https://www.nyclu.org/resources/know-your-rights/voting-criminal-record) website claims that New York only revokes the right to vote while incarcerated.
Note both of these are several years old and I'm not doing more than a cursory search - take this with a large grain of salt. It certainly would be hilarious if he lost the right to vote, especially as I'm sure he'd vote anyways and admit to it.
