Denazification was quickly abandoned by the Allies. Most influential people in Germany who hadn't been sent to the gallows or shot had still been Nazi Party members. With the emergence of the Cold War, the US, UK and France preferred a West Germany that could be a useful member of NATO than a dependent client state.

Which is not to say that the attitude within Germany towards its past isn't radically different to Japan's, just that it mostly came from internal pressure rather than as a condition of surrender.
