That's the issue. The job market changes every few years, but the training process takes years. In the early 2000s, we were told industry was gone. Now, we have a shortage of factory workers as concerns have arisen about supply chains and geopolitical tensions. Construction was wiped out after 2008, so STEM was all the rage. Now, tech is on the downside, and trades are on the up. In 5 years, the trades may be wiped out and some will ridicule them for pursuing that path. We were told 10 years ago that self-driving trucks were right around the corner, so no one entered that field and now we have a shortage of truckers. It's just hard to predict what is going to be a good career path.
