So far it has been terrible for me. When testing out an LLM/AI, I'll use a couple of really well documented historical timelines and events to help understand how it is gathering and presenting data.
Since 4o, I have been unable to get it to produce a single timeline of well-known events, that is accurate and without something *completely* made up inserted into the timeline somewhere.
It's been frustrating the heck out of me because the stuff it fabricates looks exactly like the other true things in the timeline.
For example, I'll ask for the significant list of events in the founding of, say San Francisco. And it'll give me 10 things, 8 of which are 100% correct and two of which are entirely made up and unrelated to anything in the history of SF. And you just have to know that the item in the timeline that says something like "1858 - Joseph Kincaid was born, future Mayor of San Francisco" is about someone who doesn't exist in SF's history and was never mayor, and is just a hallucination.
I never had this problem with my paid ChatGPT account before.
4o is weird.
