Agreed: We can hate on PE all we want, but the effort / capital required to save a dying chain restaurant wouldn’t be worth the squeeze for 99% of investor/operators.

What they did was accelerate the inevitable, in my opinion. Don’t love the way they did it, but some people are okay making their fortune that way.

And once the value is stripped and stakeholders are paid out, someone can swoop in, buy the name and make a run at trying to restore it on a much smaller/more economic scale.
